Overall pretty impressed with the barbecue at this place. The sides were a little more disappointing and the chicken was dry but the ribs, brisket, pulled pork, and jalapeno cheddar sausage are super on point.
Brisket was moist and perfectly cooked. A little more flavor and it would have been perfect. The Ribs were good, but not spectacular. The burnt ends were very impressive. All around pretty good considering this tiny location is part of a food court and (I assume) it is probably smoked at one of their other 3 metro locations. Good Mac & Cheese and great fries.
Fantastic and bold flavor. Get the ribs. Best thing we tried. Marbled brisket (TX style) was good, pulled pork was good. Chicken wings with the dry rub were solid. Corn on the cob was fantastic. The starter biscuits/bread were awesome. Lots of sauces. Carolina style options from those who like that.
All around impressive day at G-Que. They nail the pulled pork. They put some sort of seasoning on it post-smoke that is excellent. The brisket was perfectly cooked and very moist but wasn’t as flavorful as I would of liked. I’m being pretty critical. It really was good brisket. The sausage was excellent. I’ve never had better. The ribs were average. Good, but not extraordinary. All around impressive and would recommend.
Very affordable and very good. The corn bread dipped in the provided butter sauce was awesome. Mac and Cheese was disappointing. The Sausage was the best thing I had. Ribs also very good. The Brisket and Burnt Ends were fine. The ham and turkey were ok. Fast service. Low prices.
My second time here and disappointed to see they no longer have the family platter. Between my wife and I we tried 4 meats. The Burnt Ends were the highlight… big time. The brisket was also pretty good. The Rib tips were a disappointment. Harder to eat than normal ribs and while cooked properly they were without much flavor. The smoked chicken was good, but not special either. The tots and fries were delightful. They season them with the same rub that goes on the brisket which is a fun idea and worked really well.
Wife and I ordered to go. They were out of brisket. We both ordered burnt ends and we were both disappointed by them. They were overcooked and in some cases pure fat. The good news was the pastrami. It was unique and very flavorful. The ribs also had good flavor. The Mac and Cheese was fun with the bacon. Perhaps one day I might return to try the brisket but frankly there are too many alternate BBQ places in the metro that are better than Lot Q.

Came back here after a few years with some coworkers. This might be my favorite BBQ in the country and among the best things Houston has to offer 🙂
